Rhia Hurt

Rhia Hurt currently lives and works in NYC. She received her MFA in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2009. She has since shown in California and New York. Her work is in private collections throughout the United States. Hurt primarily produces abstract collages from hand painted surfaces. Much of her work focuses on a connection to nature and memory. The recent body of work presented in conjunction with the dB Artist Series is entitled, “Shipwreck.”

In addition to her art studio practice, Hurt is also the Director of Brooklyn Art Space and Trestle Gallery, an arts organization in Brooklyn, NY.
